A Christmas tree or Tannenbaum (German for fir tree) is one of the most popular traditions associated with the celebration of Christmas. It is normally an evergreen coniferous tree that is brought into a home or used in the open, and is decorated with Christmas lights and colorful ornaments during the days around Christmas. An angel or star is often placed at the top of the tree.

The Christmas Tree is an X-Y graph in Structural Geology showing how rock strength (X axis) relates to pressure/depth (Y axis). It is called a Christmas Tree Diagram because it looks like (half) of a christmas tree, due to changes in feldspar and quartz at various depths.

It's either a Xmas decorative pine tree or or it's an arrangement of piping and valves connected to the Well-head of an oil/gas reservoir well bore produced by drilling for oil. It is called a "Xmas-tree" and so named because of the shape of the piping and valve arrangement.
