I don't think it is the fact that people are against illegal immigrants. But there is no need to use any racism language to "try" to make it a valid argument. Its like when you have bought a defective good, and take it back to either get a refund or replacement. the cahier is more willing to help if you are polite, but less likely to help if you're rude. I understand people don't agree with me on topics, if everyone agreed with each other, the world would be a dull place! Good examples of questions here I've seen would be:
"Why should I care about Mexican citizens?"
Which is racist, however I would not regard it so if it was titled:
"Why should I care about Illegal Mexicans in the US?"
Northern and southern Mexico are very poor, but parts of the central region are fairly well of, that original question is getting at Mexicans who have no need nor desire to move to the USA, so why should they be involved in such an argument?

Agreed!
Those that come here illegally have no care for this Nation. And should not be coddled by the very nation that they hold in contempt.
I am not a racist. My love for humanity abounds! Society cannot function properly without law. Humans must be required to live within the strictures of law.
The laws pertaining to immigration are not limited to any "race" of people. They address ALL creeds of people not born here. Therefore the issue fails to meet the criteria of what is "racist."

Because we cannot feel sorry for anyone whose title starts with the word "illegal" we must be racists and are filled with hate. Please, my life is too short to be filled with the hatred we are accused of. They say "illegals" are only feeding their children? Why don't they focus their energy on the Mexican government to help feed their children. As a whole illegals working in our country are sending billions a year back into the Mexican economy, this alone is hurting our economy in more ways than one! I am sorry I cannot find any sympathy for them, this DOES NOT MAKE ONE A RACIST. I just happen to see way too many children that are US citizens that are also very hungry.

When people speak out about illegal immigration, the quickest way to quiet the outrage is to label them "racist."
No one wants that label - whether it is nonsense or not.
It is not racist - this wasn't even a topic of discussion when aliens were entering this country legally.
If it is racist to want criminals deported - what's next - racist to despise rapists and wife beaters?
The word has lost its sting - race card this and race card that - perhaps we should examine the person involved and determine if it's indeed race related or the person is simply a hemorrhoid on the butt of society.

It's not racist to hate any illegality. I have no problem with immigrants who come legally. Just those who sneak in and reap the rewards.

Why do you HATE people who are desperately escaping deplorable conditions in the home country. Have you ever been to Mexico City? Do you hate a man who steals to feed his child. Do you hate a young girl who sells her body to help her family. Both these PEOPLE have committed crimes in the eyes of the law.

It is perceived as racism when you focus all of your attention on one large group of people whom you classify as criminals based on the act of breaking a law that is up for revision. Especially when you do not show the same contempt for other law breakers. Do you "Hate" all people who speed when driving to work? Do you hate everone who has ever tried smoking a joint? Slaves in the 18th and 19th centuries broke laws by escaping. Martin Luther King Jr broke trespassing laws by sitting in restaurants where the law said no blacks were allowed. Rosa Parks broke the law by refusing to sit in the back of the bus. Environmentalists break laws when they chain themselves to trees in protest of global warming and pollution. Just because something is a law doesn't mean it is right. Right and wrong are decided by human conscience, not the government.
"Moral excellence comes about as a result of habit. We become just by doing just acts, temperate by doing temperate acts, brave by doing brave acts." -- Aristotle

Should someone call you a racist, let it roll off and go on about your business. The word has been perverted by liberals into a club with which to beat others, with whom they disagree, over the head. It no longer has any other meaning, i.e., racist if you don't support Obama, racist if you're opposed to illegal immigration, etc.

hating people is whats key here. i dont hate illegal immirgrants, and i dont hate criminals. i simply oppose crime and illegal actions that directly harm others; such as illegal immigration.
im sure you're not a racist, but you might want to rethink the way you phrase things.

Hating people, whether you consider the criminal or not, is never a good thing. Hatred is prejudice, not racism. Neither are American ideals.
