yeah. thank goodness they ordered her back in. i mean, you break the law, you face the consequences. it's bad enough her sentence was already lightened and she got a private cell...she's already been shown leniency considering her family background and celebrity status and wealth...

It sure is and it's typical. Money talks - and walks apparently. Her going to jail in the first place was just a "show", they knew when she went in there that she'd be coming right out. They were trying to make a statement, the judge, by saying she wasn't going to receive any special treatment as a star, hence no house arrest, but she had already be given only 23 days of her sentenced 45 for 'good behavior'. Now how the hell do you get time off before you even get there!? Politics. Her daddy wasn't going to let her go to jail and do any serious crime....and you know what, if it were your son/daughter or mine, and we had money, then neither would we. Again, money talks. Only the poor go to jail for their crimes.

Yes. I went to school with Steve Whitmore who is the Police Spokesperson(whose father is James Whitmore the actor). It's no wonder she got out early. Not right.. I hope there will be some kind of uproar with Rev. Al Sharpton(where he can do something about this). There should be the same justice for celebs as well as the rest of us...If you do the crime, you do the time...By the way, Steve was a BIG SNOB back then...

I have never paid attention to Paris Hilton, but she is getting hosed here.
Paris is not one to garner a lot of sympathy from the public, which is due partly to the misinformation coming from the media. For example:
Paris’ sentence was NOT reduced from 45 to 23 days before she ever set foot in the jail. It was just assumed that she would get time off for good behavior, and the press got ahead of itself in saying she would only have to serve 23 days.
She was NOT convicted of DUI. That was the original charge, but her attorney negotiated a plea deal and got it reduced to reckless driving. Personally, I think she got favorable treatment in the deal, but that’s the deal that was made and it’s unfair, and inaccurate, for the media to keep talking about her DUI “conviction.”
A lot of people seem delighted that Paris had to return to jail, but many of them are acting like she broke out of jail rather than being released by that stupid sheriff, Lee Baca. I have NEVER heard of a case where a sheriff effectively overturned a judge’s sentence and imposed one of his own. The sheriff could have just released her due to overcrowding, but he had no business giving her an alternative sentence.
My understanding is that Paris was taking various medications when she reported to jail (I think they were anti-anxiety drugs). At least one of them was not provided to her while she was in jail, and that may have accounted for her “meltdown” when she was being taken back to the jail.
According to many California attorneys who are familiar with cases like hers, a typical sentence for someone guilty of her offenses would receive, at most, a 10 day jail sentence, of which most would serve only a part.
In any event, Paris is now doing her time and maybe we can forget about her for awhile.

If it's any consolation, she was let out for one night and has been back in jail for the past week. Because she's there, the other prisoners are finally getting a few perks. She might just be useful after all.

It's worse than unfair. Money talks and BS walks. Some people get upset over the smallest things. This is not one of them. I'll stop there before I get booted off Yahoo.

Not fair. Not fair. Not fair.
I read that among her "medical problems" was the fact that she decided not to eat the prison food of cereal and bologna sandwiches among other foods.
If other inmates do not eat their food they are ordered to have a feeding tube inserted.
Did she think jail was going to have gormet foods and resort type facilities? Probably.

just because she has a ton of money and is famous, that does not make her any better than the other inmates in jail!
i think its very wrong and she definitely recieved special treatment

I think everyone would agree it is not fair and she gets special treatment. Its crazy.
They need to put her back in and throw away the key.
So they put her on house arrest, her house has every amenity imaginable i'm sure... her house is like being on vacation.
