She is certainly living her life as she sees fit and doesn't care what others think about her. How does this go over with feminists?

South Park nailed it on the head with their show about her.

Are we really that void? What should it matter? I will never understand the media's (and in turn the people's) obsession with celebrities!

Seriously who are we to judge? do we not have our own issues and discrepencies to deal with? How can judging someone else possibly be productive?

How do I view her? the same way i view everyother person on this planet, a human who does both good and bad, excels and makes mistakes.

EDIT
LOL i find it absolutely halarious that Graymalkin considers it appalling to focus on the negative media about celebrities and then in turn makes a sweeping generalization that bashes americans, yea! while were bashing paris let's isolate entire countries too! hypocrisy anyone?

It's her choice, which is what feminism is all about ,however this feminist agrees with Pink , that Paris Hilton is a 'stupid girl' in many many many ways, despite being 26.

On the one hand, Paris Hilton embodies that woman who relies on others (her family's fortune) to support her in life. But on the other hand, she has used her fortune to create opportunities for herself, creating a public persona that has gained her personal fame and fortune. If anything, she is someone who knows how to manipulate the current system, including gender stereotypes and norms, to her advantage. Am I proud of the system that rewards people like her? No. Does she know how to use it? Yes.

I would respect Paris Hilton more if she didn't treat herself like a commodity or a piece of meat. She appears to have no use for her own gray matter.

She is the walking example of what a Superfeminine blonde object can be.A human life going wasted for everyone to drool with female hate/envy.
Her choices are not from the head, heart or soul. She is a product of others.Victim of her self destructive servitude.

I don't know. She's rich and therefore utterly protected and sheltered from any hardship or tragedy. She never went to college and didn't want to and doesn't regret not going. What do you expect. Her lifestyle is nothing of interest to me as a feminist, and nothing out of the ordinary for the obscenely wealthy female.

Thanks, Girly. I'm rather appalled by how quick people are to randomly label some far-away celebrity a "w.hore," or even "stupid," considering the type of family and culture of wealth she grew up in. This is why I hate 'South Park,' written by two white men who think being perpetually immature and distasteful is super-funny. No. It's not. Go back to school.

It's good that Paris Hilton is satisfied with her life. Though she's in prison now, which says alot about her character.

personally, i think she's a horrible role model & does much to damage the view of women in this society. She's like a big walking stereotype.

Who cares? You Americans are soooooo fixated on these people. The Anna Nicole thing - I thought the pop culture media would NEVER stop. I make an extra effort to CHANGE THE STATION whenever this garbage comes up.

This fixation Americans have with these morons underscores something is wrong with Americans.
