Why do people look at you differently if you park in a handicap spot and get out and walk into an establishment? You don't have to be in a wheelchair to be handicapped. My mom looks normal but has severe neck trauma for the rest of her life. The pain is excruciating so walking the shorter distance helps. She is pretty much in pain all the time and even with having a pain pump she still has trouble dealing with it. You don't have to be in a wheelchair to be handicapped.

I have had people come up to me and ask me what my disability was because they said I seemed normal. I too am a chronic pain sufferer due to several back ailments. Many disabilities are what is called invisible and stupid people need to realize this.

Some people just assume to be handicapped you have to be unable to walk and be near death.
in PA, doctors can prescribe two kinds, 1, permament, and 2, temporary, which must be renewed periodically. . The first is for an obvious permanent disability, the second is for people who have a medical problem which is expecte to improve. The permit is portable, can be moved from car to car.
Handicapped plates can be issued, but they're good only for 1 car.
People can be stupid and cruel. Ignore them.

a lot of people are very judgemental. i find that if you learn to not pay attention to it and not be judgemental yourself, you find that you won't notice it anymore.
