has anyone ever captured groudon i have tried and failed miserably and if so how did u do it

I managed to capture it. This is how I did it:
1. Get someone in the party that can paralyze, electric type's won't work since he is immune to it.
2. He has earthquake, fire blast, bulk-up and slash. Get a pokemon that has a good defense and is immune to earthquake. In this case I chose Gyarados.
3. The reason you want a good pokemon with good defense is because the battle will prolong and it will constantly use Bulk-Up to raise its attack and one shot you with Slash.
4. Keep chucking ultraballs and timer balls.

trow a pokeball(preferable quickball) right at the start of the battle! that's how i cought mine!


if it doesn't work you can just keep trying till you get a shiny groudon then i recmond master ball if you cant' catch it.

Quick ball wasn't until Diamond and pearl.

anyways, i usually take something with false swipe and a sleep inducing move whenever i battle a legendary. just throw in something like farfetch'd, scizor, or sceptile, do false swipe, get it down to 1 hp, then switch in something with sleep powder or hypnosis. Put it to sleep then keep chucking ultra and timer balls until its yours. If it wakes up, put it back to sleep. Its not going to be easy though, because otherwise, it wouldn't be legendary.

i jux started at that area but i would use a blaziken and a zangoose cuz zangoose is awesome whern u get him to about lvl 35. then all you want to do is load up on about 30 ultra balls and get his health relly low and use the bals

i cought mine with a premium ball
but a good strategy is paralyzing it and use the timer ball
