Does anyone know where I could find either a replica of the cloaks worn in the Harry Potter movies or a pattern to make one yourself? Looking for details such as what kind of material was used to make the cloaks in the movies. Any info. would be appreciated.

Thanks

Already surfed around and tried E-Bay but all I can find is more like Halloween Costumes. Looking to purchase or make an acutual replica of the cloaks worn in the Harry Potter movies.

Folkwear (www.folkwear.com) has very nice (but expensive and often complicated) patterns. #207 and #208 are cloaks you could probably adapt. Also, all the big pattern companies have cloak/cape patterns in the costume section of their catalogues. Print out a couple of scenes showing Harry & Co. in their cloaks and bring them to a good fabric shop. The sales people can give you an idea of what sort of fabric to get.

I'm not sure what was so special about the Harry Potter cloaks. Is there a special collar or something?

I would think you could use any old Halloween cloak pattern (as long as it looks like what you want), and then buy fabric that looks like the Harry Potter cloaks. Most people don't look *very* closely at the cloak -- if you've got the glasses, the wand and the cloak, they go, "Oh, it's Harry Potter." (-: Even if you are supposed to be somebody else.

Good luck with it!
