Hey eveyone. I found out I was pregnant on May 20th. According to my last menstral cycle, the nurse said I was about 5 weeks pregnant.

I went to the ER last Friday and found out my hcg levels and size of the gestational sac were 5 weeks (according to the nurse I was supposed to be close to 7 weeks now). This made us really worried!

We went to the DR. on Monday and we had another ultrasound showing the gestational sac growing and now we have a yolk sac (measuring 5 weeks, 2 days).

Has anyone else found out they were earlier in their pregnancy than they were originally told? I have polycystic ovaries and that is why I think the dates are off.

Thanks Gypsy, when I 1st found out I was terrified that I had a blighted ovum, but when we went 3 days later and the sac had grown 3mm and we saw the yolk sac I started thinking my dates were just off.

Thanks Doyln, I figure I got pregnant noe week before my cycle was supposed to start as well. I was terrified about miscarriage, but my DR. said she is very confident just from the changes in my ultrasounds and hcg levels (at 5 weeks, 2 days they were over 17,000)...she asked "do multiples run in your family"? yikes!

Indeed, it is a PCOS thing. I apparently got pregnant just before my period started, so it took forever to show up on the ultrasound. We PCOSers pretty much ovulate whenever the heck our ovaries feel like it. So, don't worry. You just got pregnant not at the "expected time" in a woman's cycle. Congrats:)

And, be careful. We have a 50 percent chance of miscarriage. If ANYTHING feels wrong, go to the doctor or call. Don't let them make you feel like a hypochondriac. You have every right to be concerned.

First i think its so exciting that you might be having twins!!! either way its a beautiful thing. 2nd I kinda had the same problem. Except mine was a mistake. I had kept track of my period and only had a light one in oct. i had sex with my current bf and then things werent working out and we broke up. then i got back with my true love who i lost my virginity too and was dating 4 3 years. and we had sex about a couple days to a week later. BAD MISTAKE. wen i found out i was pregnant i thought everything was fine because i just found out how many weeks my baby was by my LMP. but ultrasound showed that the baby was smaller than wat she shouldve been so they changed my due date a whole week. from July 15 in the beginning to July25. I got my ultrasound at like 6 weeks so it should be pretty accurate and i got extra testing done at a hospital to see if there was anything wrong with the baby but she is fine but they also agreed with the due date change. Good luck to u! and congratulations!

Not uncommon at all especially if your periods aren't textbook regular, like every 28 days. stick with the ultra sound results.
I was 10.5 weeks by last period, 9.5 weeks with ultra-sound and it stayed that way throughout my pregnancy. I continued to measure for the week I was in. Insisted on induction after 41 weeks (no telling how long I would have gone over) and ended up with a 9lb. 3 oz. baby. There is no exact science to this. Its always give or take a week with the dates.
