Are ps3's good?

The Playstation 3 can display at 1080p whereas teh XBOX only goes to 720. You won't really notice too much difference unless you have a 1080p television. But also, the games out for teh PS3 are mostly ports right now. Wait till some original games come out in teh fall and you will see a real difference. Also, you can't beat free online play. I really enjoy my Playstation 3 but you can't really go wrong with any of teh new consoles.

Are they "good"? Hardware-wise, yes. However, I would recommend that you do not buy one as they are a waste of money. Here's why:
#1. Too expensive, the people at Sony seem to believe that everyone in America is rich and can afford to drop this kind of money on a fairly basic entertainment system.
#2. Small game library, which probably won't get better due to the poor launch of the system.
#3. Games are nothing more than pretty side-scrollers with the content value of a 1985 arcade game. The people who write the 1st party Sony games are probably sleeping on the job.
#4. All the good games for the system are ports from PC or Xbox, which means that they will not take advantage of the graphical possibilities of the PS3.

Well if you want a system for online play get a 360... PS3 is a good machine... of course it's backed by Sony.... with the price and based on PS2's breaking when you open them... that's up to you if you want to get one.. As far as graphics it is the best... Games? I don't really think too much of collection right now, main reason I don't have one, no games. Also consider this, the games are on blu-ray disc... which means they can hold 50gigs of gaming... however the games currently don't break 10.... the machine also can't handle a game that could take that much space... kinda sucks doesn't it, can't do what it was designed for.... anyways choice is yours.

PS3 has much better graphics then 360 but needs game support very badly.

I hear this holiday season some really great games are coming.

I own both and right now the 360 is winning so far but the race isn't over yet.

Oh, and the Blu-ray Vs. HD-DVD thing (PS3 Blu-ray Vs 360's HD-DVD player) the Blu-ray is running away with the next format. Way more movie studios are with them and they have a lot more available titiles.

ps3 have an awesome graphics, and i think it'll be the best console pretty soon..., xbox 360's graphics are also good, but ps3's a lot much better, you can find almost all xbox's game for pc so it'll be good if you have ps3 since the games are originally for ps3, and i think ps3 will be the console king like ps2 in the future... PS: don't buy ps3 now since the price are still high, and there's a chance ps3 will get a deadly virus like psp...

I really don't understand why the ps3 is even a big deal at all. I mean, in three generations, Playstation's controls haven't changed at all. I'd go with Wii. WAY less expensive and a brand new gaming experience.

PS3 is the biggest scam since the PSP! I wouldnt waste that kind of money on a PS3! why would i do that when i could get either a PS2 or a WII for less money!! Wii is the way to go d00d thats what i recommend..hope this helps d00d

well lets ask the gaming experts (the Japanese) the wii has sold better then the ps3 in a ratio of 5-1
(i got done with my geometry final so math is still in my head)
dont get the 360 nintendo has more experience then microsoft

Not $600 good. No game system is worth that. I have a second hand ps2 I picked up for $25 and it works great. Every now and then I pick up a game for it that my kid and I both like. No problems yet.
