why or why not?

Never.

No one would know pain and sorrow as someone who is immortal would. To watch love ones pass, a mere blink of an eye, would cause turmoil unimaginable.

Nothing would be left to done, for you would have accomplished all things. The days would have no end, a continues reel of moments to many to remember.

It would be like watching random flashes of light and color, bits of incoherent sound.

You see, to live forever would mean to never live.

The question is a lot more simple than you think. Do you want to live TOMORROW?

Pretty much everyone would say yes. But why? You don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. You may be hit by a truck. Everyone you love may be hit by a truck. The world might be hit by... well, you get the idea.

People accept one day because it has a positive value. Bad things might happen, but good things might happen too. We know that we have some measure of control over those things, even though we know that many things that happen will be completely unexpected and completely out of our control. So it goes.

So if one day has a positive value, how could any number of days summed up not continue to have a positive value? Those who deny immortality are merely being pessimistic. Maybe the cure for age will be discovered tomorrow. Maybe peace will finally reign over all humanity. Or maybe they'll just have a new TV show you would have been sorry to miss.

The possibilities are endless. Do not deny them.

Old people don't generally want to live forever as they see too
much that is unfavourable or have an outlook that issues of the
world will not improve. A young person has more optimism
and would more likely want to live longer unless they are in
physical or emotional pain and don't know how to resolve it.

If I was given an infinite amount of time, I would put off things that I shouldn't. I would spend lifetimes waiting to live because I would know that there would always be a tomorrow.

I prefer to live now, in the moment, have my hour in the sun, watch my kids grow up and have families of their own, and then move on to the next life.

If I could live forever, it would be to learn, to apply my knowledge and experiences to make my life better and the world a better place, and all the people and creatures and Beings that I encountered.

Only if I could stay young and fit forever as well.

I'm already at an age where things have started to drop off and droop, and I ache like hell most mornings.

An eternity of this getting steadily worse would be hell.

The top answer has an EXELLENT point. If I had my age frozen I would cut my hed off to see wot happens. and then sew it bak on. Then I'd watch TV and eat mexican food all day. But wot wud happen if judgement day came and I couldn't die and either go to heaven or hell, wud I float around space for eternity when the world finally goes too. There wud be no TVs and mexican food there( acctually, mabye there is o_0)

It depends...do you get older? I wouldn't mind being 18 forever, but if i was 500 and FELT like I was 500: I mean. What's the point?

If I didn't age then maybe, but who wants to get old and then never die. When you are like 90 and your mind is almost gone, and your body always hurts, and you can't walk without a walker. Why would you want to live even longer.
