NO!!!!! seniority has nothing to do with anything any more!!!! However, either its a compliment that your more valuable than the others since your getting more shifts and others get more time off or she is being unreasonable. See if you can change with someone first, if that doesn't work, make sure if you call off do so 4 hrs before your shift begins, a no call no show is immediate grounds for termination. Don't make any stupid excuses, politely say that you HAVE to move, a sick excuse may warrant written documentation. Good Luck!

hmmm... maybe your boss doesn't want you to take any days off because they need you at the office more then they need those other people. if it happens again, I would approach my boss about it and ask why she will not give you any time off. If she doesn't give you any reason, try going to her boss to figure out what the deal is. hope you get some time off soon!

You must be a mvp (most valuable player). In that case maybe the business would have trouble running without you...
Seems like you may be worth something. Ask for a raise. ;-)
Then you can afford to have someone else move for you.

Use the phone tomorrow and tell them you are taking a well deserved vacation day, if you don't get into trouble for it.

I'd have a conference with her and tell her you thought it was unfair. Try to settle it rationally and without bullets. I've read enough news and discovered that bullets get you absolutely nowhere.

Senority and employer loyalty is about as extinct as T-Rex.Talk to just about anyone who had to work for a company, and see if they don't agree with what I just said.If an employer can increase his profit by canning you , he will. I mean what is loyalty compared to profits?

Want me to slash her tires for you? I never turned down any of my employees requests for time off, even in the summer when it was our busiest time of year.
