From what I have read and heard is that Bin Laden hated us for having troops in Saudi Arabia, not because they hated our culture. He has said they are intent on an islamic World from Spain to the Middle east, were we are not involved. If we just get the hell out of Iraq and the middle east in general (including support for Israel) it seems it will make us a much safer country. We should buy our oil and be done with that hellish place, it is not our problem if they want to kill eachother.

I havent heard any evidence that they want world domination, and if do they must truly be insane because there is not enogh people, let alone men, in the mddleeast toconqeur even Europe. I am not saying we should desert Spain and Europe, but theve got there problems and weve got ours. If the Un desides we should attack than lets do it...with a helluva lotta of back up.

Obviously, if we're not over there, we won't be at the top of their agenda. That's for sure. So, a more humble foreign policy would lead to less attacks. And I think it's a step in the right direction.
On the other hand, we still need to be prepared for a few crazies trying to come over here and attacking. Politics in the Mideast is not noted for its rational behavior. Ron Paul pointed this out at the 2nd debate. So, we do still need to be prepared for an occasional attack here. That's why better border security is important, as well as just good old-fashioned investigation and fieldwork.

hey this may not be right but did we use bin laden to run the soviets out of the balkans. i don t think they looked any weaker then nor now. this is fearmongering, no i am not scarred of bin laden nor anyone else. if i die it is because its my time to go. i dont need fox or bush to tell me that if i vote dem. and pull out of iraq i am going to see an untimely demise. its like some people on here feel that its us against the world. if so have that thought all the way. stop driving cars that are fueled with gas. get in the lab and find an alternative source to get to work. if thats so far fetched then lets try buying it and a little diplomacy , if you have'nt noticed the world in general isnt afriad of us. if they were there would be more contries backing us in iraq. just a thought.

Your solution is simplistic at best, suicide at worst.
The radical muslims don't want an Islamic region in the world, they want an Islamic WORLD. They view Islam as a religion that applies to everyone.
Even if we did pull out of the mideast (and then Europe and Asia), we'd still have one problem: Oil. Whether we like it or not, we're addicted to oil and we're not going to change that in either my lifetime or my children's lifetime. Once the radical muslims take over the oil states, all they would have to do to crush us would be to turn off the spigot.
Since A) we stand against religious extremism, and B) we need to keep our oil flowing, "buying our oil and being done with that hellish place" is not an option.

You missed a spot...they want total world domination. But if you believe that nonsense about get out of Israel, get out of Iraq, and then they won't bother us anymore.... I got this great bridge to sell you, goes from Brooklyn to Manhattan, I got the deed at a garage sale and its a great money maker, I can let it go for only $3.9 million payable by Western Union. Oh yes and my grandma need the money for an operation.
Please open your eyes, London had tube bombings, the Bali nightclub bombings, the bombings in India, the wars in the northern Africa areas. The Chechnya school massacre, German unrest and death threats in the Netherlands. All Muslim.
This is universal folks, not just us. Failure to see this is the most dangerous thing in a dangerous time.

They believe that everyone that isn't a muslim with extreame muslim views is an infidel and should be beheaded. They believe that you must convert or die and have no problem with forced conversion at the end of a sword. They don't care if you like them or not. Your thoughts are irrelevant. You must be a muslim extreamist or die. If you are homosexual you must die. If you are a woman and are raped you must die. We believe in things like woman's rights, freedoms, freedom of religion all of these are punishable by death.
Useing your statement is it acceptable to you that everyone that doesn't practice an extreamist version of Islam from Spain to the Middle east should be beheaded for what they believe? Do you really think that if these people control everything from Spain to the Middle East they'll stop then and be less of a threat? Do you really think we'll be safe then? Should be abandon all countries from the Middle East to Spain? I like Spain. I have friends from Spain. I have friends that were born in Spain and have extensive family still in Spain. I disagree that everyone in Spain should have to convert to Islam or be beheaded. I don't think that's American.

In my opinion, you are correct about leaving the civil war in Iraq. Mind you, it will look a little cowardly, seeing as the current lawlessness was created by the US...but I digress.
Bin Laden and other terror cells will not stop simply because the US has left its occupation in Iraq. Their memories are long, and the US has many skeletons. Other posters are also correct...the jihadists are interested in obliterating the Western way of life...which should include all of North America, but the other countries seem to be able to mind their own business and don't poke sticks at other countries.
The US is reaping what it has sown...I'm not saying that any horrific acts of violence are justified, but it doesn't take an idiot to realize that might does NOT make right...and if you tick off the right people, they will not roll over and play dead.

Forget any quasi-political statement that a terrorist might make. Terrorists live only to hurt people; they enjoy death, carnage, and general chaos.
They are like dogs with rabies or cannibalistic zobmies from a horror film--the only way to stop them is to shoot them in the head.
It isn't only America they dislike. They would be just as likely to blow up the Louvre as they would the Washington Monument.
Suppose every American in the world suddenly died tomorrow. Against whom would they strike next, hm?

The koran tells muslims to convert the world to islam and kill those who refuse. Do you want to let the islamofascist terrorists use all that oil money to buy bombs to kill you with ?
Wake up and smell the jihad.

Read the Korran and analyze the Muslim philosophy. I agree with you that we should have vacated Iraq after Saddam was ousted, however numerous terrorist rallies have stated that they despise our culture and celebrate at the death of America.

Finally, a voice of reason. You're absolutely right. They don't hate us for our culture; they just don't want us dictating their domestic policies. I don't think that's unreasonable. People are getting mad at Mexicans because they think illegals are coming here to change the U.S. to Mexico but that's exactly what we are doing in Iraq. We went there to push democracy down their throats and expect them to be friendly? The problem is that many Americans are too narrow minded to think outside themselves. We shouldn't be in Iraq, we shouldn't be in Afghanistan, and we definitely shouldn't be supporting the terrorist state of Israel. Israelis are more dangerous than Al-Qaida if you ask me. They kill kids and women as well........
