In Tomb Raider Anniversary, how do you defeat the T-rex?

I find that shooting and moving nonstop kills just about anything

A friend of mine would stand on a cliff above it and shoot it to death there. I never played the game, I just watched him do this. Somewhere before you enter the valley where the T-rex is, there is a place where you can look down into the valley and can just snipe the guy from there.

I defeated it once! It is SO easy! Just keep pressing the same key!
