My doctor said that im fine with that weight gain even tho it's supposed to be 12-15 pnds by now. But ne other women gained little weight.. was it easy to get back to ur old jeans? And i was kind of athletic built before is it possible to get a tight stomach back?

AND yes i know baby is healthy who cares but i'm a healthy person and like to stay in shape especially for when the little bugger gets to the running stage. My baby is healthy and so am.

So far during this pregnancy I'm 37 weeks and I've gained 5 lbs. I'm still wearing my pre-preggo jeans so I'm sure i won't have any problems getting back into them.

Hi, well I was very athletic and fit before my pg. I ended up gaining 50 pounds!! I just allowed every crave in my body. The honest truth is I have lost 40 pounds already just by breastfeeding, my girl was born almost 5 months ago and now that she's not breastfeeding anymore (I work full time and production went decreasing...) I'm eating healthy, following a low carb dieting so I loose those 10 lbs I have left. My abs are not as tight but ALMOST the same they used to be. Truth is, between my full time work and my baby I haven't had anytime to excersice and I don't think I'm having any time for now. I didn't stay with a belly and I understand your worry, baby is important but your sel esteem is also important. Sure I felt that way and I wanted to look great for my hubby too. Plus I live in southamerica, where girls take a lot of care about their bodies. I'm not shallow I just like people telling me how great I look just after 5 months of having a baby.

I am 31 weeks and I keep gaining and losing. After all the losing I have only gained 8 lbs. I am overweight to begin with so every pound that I don't gain makes me very happy. Last week when I went to the Dr. they measured the baby to be 31 weeks, so I know that it is gaining weight. I have big babies, so I know that while the baby is gaining I myself am losing. I gained alot with my other 2 and I didn't lose the weight. I ended up weighing more after I had the baby than I did at the end of my pregnancy. That doesn't happen for everyone. Most end up back at their pre-pregnancy weight. I am hoping that after I have this baby I can be back to my pre-pregnancy weight from my 1st. LOL!

i can understand you being concerned about your weight i am 37 weeks and i am still under my prepregnancy weight. I lost so much weight during my first 5 1/2 months. the important thing is the baby though i may have lost all that weight and still able to wear my pre pregnancy jeans, nut my baby is in the 89% on the growth chart. if you are concerened about your health the thing i have learned more than anything is drink drink adn drink. Keep fliuids in you and you will be fine. You are doing good on your weight gain anyway. Good luck

Yes, just do work outs after your 8week check up and you will be fine. Also, I found breast feeding to be of great help. My daughters sucked all that extra weight right off of me.
I had twins and 10 days after birth, I had only 10 pounds to lose and after nursing, I had to struggle to keep my weight UP! Loved having a half gallon of ice cream a week while nursing.
Yes, you are not having twins, but still, just don't worry about it yet and think about the old routine you'll be doing again and you'll be fine. My only advice is maybe remember, modified sit-up for after baby paunch you might get. That will fix up your abs just fine and in only 2 weeks if done everyday.

Don't worry about your weight. Yes, I know that is soooooooo irritating to hear! But honestly, if you bug about it you will only cause yourself stress and bad eating habits. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are not. Try to eat healthy foods [or foods your doctor/midwife suggests you eat], try and remain active [or as active as your doctor/midwife suggests]. Try to remember to take your prenative vitamins and/or any other medication/vitamins your doctor/midwife prescribes you to take!

Your body is going to look however it is going to look after your baby is born, and there is not much you can do about that right now. Try to relax a little about that for now, worry about your body once it is your body again. I know how difficult that is to do, especially when your body is changing so drastically, but there really is not much you can do to predict how easy or hard it will be for you to return to your regular size and self. It is different for each individual. If you were physically fit before you got pregnant you are less likely to have stretch marks and more likely to regain your "old body" after the baby is born.

If you have a cesarean ["c-section"] you are likely to have scar tissue that may never go away, but I have heard many women say any visible scar they once had disappeared completely.

The baby is healthy who cares?!?!?!?! You should care!!!! You can get back in shape after the baby is born. You should be taking care of yourself and the baby now instead of worrying about how you might look afterwards. I'm sure the baby won't care if you have a pound that just won't come off. I'm sure you didn't mean too, but you sound like you care more about the size of your clothes than your baby.

I gained 18 pounds with my daughter (5 of it in month 8) and she was fine. It still takes awhile to get back into those jeans, though. Remember everything has spread out and it takes up to 18 months for the joints to tighten back up to pre-pregnancy shape.

I gained 20 pounds with my daughter and lost it all within 3 weeks of giving birth. Yes, you can get your stomach tight again. It just takes effort and determination. Good for you for caring about you appearance. Nothing wrong with that.
