I'm voting for the Clash: i've seen so many bands live bands from the Rolling Stones, Rem, The Police and even Koolin the Gang. And I firmly believe the Clash is the best band that ever stalked the earth. And the music ended way too soon!

According to most people who are music professionals, Led Zeppelin is the greatest rock band of all time. They have had the most influence on modern rock as we know it today.

Is it just me or are some of these answers unbelievable? Read it with me... Greatest Rock Band....
I would def say Led Zeppelin... I think the set the music scene... After that i have a few others... Jimi Hendrix.. The Doors... Lynard Skynard... The Who.... Rolling stones... But i don't think anyone comes close to Led Zeppelin in my mind and heart!

It's generic, but I've got to go the Beatles on you.
followed by the Velvet Underground.
Just a thought, but Bowie never gets brought up in these topics. I wouldn't necessarily pick him, but I believe he's worth mentioning. Also, to a similar degree I think Radiohead is a viable option for the top 5. I think they're going to go down as the Zeppelin equivalent (not to imply that they sound alike) for a period that needed one.

Dude i hate those little 12 year olds man. Im 13 and i Listen to Led Zeppelin. Oh yeah Led Zeppelin is my pick.
I mean MCR is my favorite band ever, but Led Zeppelin is just awesome. I mean I just turned 13 but that doesn't stop me from listening to classic rock. But anyways, well Led Zeppelin has inspired all the awesome bands we have today!

There's only two kinds of rock i listen to so for Classic Rock i'd put Led Zeppelin.
And for Southern Rock i'd put The Allman Brothers Band.

Zeppelin and Skynyrd are huge influences and define rock and roll. When it's all said and done, I think that Tool will be the most remembered band besides the 2 listed above, in my opinion. Clapton called Tool "the most talented band he's ever heard" and it is true.
