Defeat it! It's just another law that will not be enforced. BUILD THE FENCE and enforce the laws on the books already.
Take away incentive for them to come here and for the ones who are here to stay. Pass the Fair Tax bill(H.R.25/S.1025), repeal the 16th amendment, and companies will have no reason to hire illegals over citizens and legal immigrants. If they don't have jobs they will deport themselves.

I would vote in favor of it. A slightly faulty immigration bill is better than any of the other options available. Not passing it means NO change to the immigration situation, which is unacceptable. There is not a better bill laying around waiting. A bill that fixes some of the problems is better than a bill that fixes none of them. When the doubters come up with a better idea, then we can consider it, but so far everyone knows what NOT to do, but no one has provided an alternative solution that makes any sense.

Defeat it, and start over. There is nothing in it to hold the employers of these people (it is a crime to hire illegals) accountable, and this is the root of the problem. These employers need to be fined into bankruptcy if necessary, or required to pay the illegal the same (gross) amount to illegals. That will stop the problem. Also, hospitals need to start turning away these people, it is not their problem! No more welfare etc. People that house illegals are also in violation of the law!

The whole thing is ridiculous. We already have immigration laws in America. Illegal is illegal. Next we change the laws about murder because murders don't like the law? Protecting and enforcing the laws of America is not racism. Immigration laws are for everyone not just one race of people like some would have you believe. And yes my ancestors were immigrants. But not illegal immigrants. There is a difference.

i liked it. if i understood it correctly. i thought it was a good compromise and was compassionate and strict at the same time.
i get some info from a site called congress.org and they send me info on the upcoming votes and the results of the votes. theni have a chance to comment before and after.
i don't think it passed though.

Just pass it already, but of course with limitations on who and how they can get their residency. Illegal student right now really need something, there are so many students with degrees but no where to use them, since they are illegal. But people with a criminal history, misdemeanors, felonies and all that stuff shouldn't get it.

I don't know the details, but I support Mexicans who want to visit, or emigrate to, Texas, California etc., and I wish, please God, they will get US citizenship.
