You know, the fiscal part of the conserative ideals are rarely addressed...in light of the deficit spending already taking place on account of the war, what do you sacrifice? If nothing, what do you tax?

thanks sway...my only issue is the constitutionality of the federal gov't granting permission to ask every citizen for proof of citizenship.

Illegal immigration costs the people no matter how you look at it. Currently they are drain on funds from a social services, health care and education standpoint. Deporting them they will be a drain for the costs of courts, police, detention, transportation and interdiction. As legal residents they will again be a drain on health care, social services and education, but with added benefit of higher prices for goods and services as they demand fair wages after receiving legal status. It is not really a question of cost because they cost no matter what. It is a question of how would you rather see your money being spent. For me the answer is removing lawbreakers from our society. No matter what none of it is going to happen. Why do you think that Congress is so behind this bill in the first place? The answer is because they have no intention of enforcing the law in this area no matter what it is. So making them legal is the easiest way out for our leaders.

Ok, I say we form a non-profit organization and collect donations specifically for this purpose - and absolutely no overhead except minor expense, such as maybe webiste fees and such.
I would totally donate.
EDIT - First we would need to see what services we could get provided. Such as could we get some buses donated? We would need to set up a call center with volunteers where people could call and report illegals? We would need the federal government to give the local authorities the right to ask peopel for their ID's and proof of citizenship.
After we find out what services we can get donated and how many volunteers we could gt, only then would we really be able to come up with some numbers of how much we could need.
I work as a Buyer, my job is to find things at the best possible price and the most efficient way.
When the government handles something it pays premium prices on all goodsd and services, doing this through a private organization i feel would be way more efficient.
I also feel that there are enough supporters that we could get this done, of course it wouldnt be easy, but it could be done.

More importantly, if we keep illegals here, how do we pay for it?
The economic drain on our society is THREE TIMES the contribution. Welfare, medical benefits, unemployment benefits, incarceration and law enforcement costs, all seriously outweigh the small tax revenues.
If you think they all pay their share of taxes, think again. Would not an employer want to disguise his engaging of illegals, if he knew it would cost him his business?
Thus, rather than inform the IRS of this illegal activity, he keeps the tax revenues (if any). If the illegal has a baby, no hospital may turn them away, regardless of ability to pay for the services.
It is ACTUALLY the LIBERALS who have failed to fund the border fence, which is the first and most prudent method to affect the illegal activity.
Let us also not forget that this is a NATIONAL SECURITY issue. A porous border invites enemies bent on destroying our Democratic way of life.

The amount of funds spent on illegals for education and health care alone should offset the cost of rounding them up and deporting them.
Edit - No, not cut education and health care for US citizens.
We are paying out a but load for ESL teachers and books for educating illegals as well as the cost of illegals using the emergency rooms at the hospitals as their family physician.
If we get rid of the illegals the savings on these money pits will offset the cost of getting rid of the illegals.

We have a lot of police that dont do anything but drive around. We could just have a deport chain city by city all the way to the border.

You could fine every employer who willingly and knowingly hired an illegal $1,000+ per worker.
I'm not trying to be hateful here, I am just saying that it's one possible way to collect the funds.

They are not going to deport all the illegal immigrants.
You are so right no one is going to put up with spending bill that would do this.
And if congress thinks this is where are money should be spent then I will seriously consider moving.

You would pay for it by working under the heat of the sun and getting paid for a short amount which you will be so lazy and crying everyday for the job you have and of course a lot of farmers will loose their crops because of deporting all illegal aliens. America shouldn't be call no more the "American Dream".

We would have to find the money somewhere, God knows we waste a lot on pork barrel projects. Whatever it would cost would be worth it, I refuse to reward law breakers.
