When you first start the pill packs, it will take a few months to get your cycle to get in sync with the pills. SO you COULD get your period late, or it could come when the placebo pills come.
DO NOT get the shot, so many negative side affects and issues because of it. We are talking several class action lawsuits against Pfizer because of the affects it has on women! I also had it for four years and am so glad I am OFF of it.
I am on Kariva (pill) now and love it.

Doctors always recommend that you start the pill right after your period. I always started the Sunday after, even if your period started that Sunday. Some people start on different days, but the packs are geared usually for a Sunday start with the calendar. I would wait for your next cycle, you don't want to mess up the shedding of your uterine lining by doing it off it's normal course.
I'm sure it would come late if you started pills in the middle of your cycle because you will be taking active pills at the time you would normally get your period. You get your period during the inactive pills. I wouldn't mess with your cycle too much. My periods got more predictable with the pill then without it, I would consult your gyn.

you should wait until your next period count the days of the placebo pills and let your period go that long=don't take the placebo ones yet =when the 7th day comes even if you have stopped bleeding ,start taking the birth control= it is as said already ,it will take perhaps 2 months to get in rhythm with the pill =refrain or use other protection until your periods are regulated again=good luck

The period should not start until you are on the pink or "placebo" pills. The other pills are the hormones, then for a week you go without so you can have your period. Read the insert that comes with because it explains how and when you should start taking them.

I would say yes, 95% of the time a girl starts taking bc pills, their period timing will get messed up. When I started taking my bc pills I got my period 11 days late.

depends on what you are calling late. It will hit in 21 days or so, once you start the white pills or the last week of pills your period will start then. but my suggestion wait till the end of your next period and then start the pills.

it really depends on your body. when I was on the pill, I'd have break-through bleeding every so often, so I'd have to switch to a different kind. I would talk with your doctor just in case. good luck!
