Can't wait for swim season!

Oh...I need new goggles. My old ones are digging into my eyeballs, and it's quite painful. I get the racconish thing around my eyes everytime I wear them.

What swim goggles do you recommend? I need a pair that is comfortable, but won't break easily.

You need to find the pair that fits your face the best. You ought to be able to try out a few pair at your local sporting goods store or ask the clerk to recommend something for your face shape. Some women require women-specific goggles because of their bone structure and some require kid's goggles because of their small size. It's a very personal thing and until you find what works best for you it can be irritating. I recommend trying them on before you buy them and read the packaging because someitmes they mention certain attributes the goggles are made for. You can check out the consumer reviews of certian products too for more opinions.

Since you're on a team you can always try out your teammates goggles and see how they work for you, we were always test-driving the latest things on my team ( =

Personally I like the Nike Remora II Metallics. I wear them in open water and the pool, they are comfy and easy to adjust.

Good luck!

Kale:

The truth of the matter is you are going to have to try several goggles until you find one brand or style that you like. I really liked Finis goggles. But, every time I dove into the water they would fall off of my face. No matter how tight I made the straps. I suggest that you try several brands. I like to use the Aqua Sphere now. The key is to find a goggle brand that fits or forms to your face the best. Although I used to like Finis brand goggles, they just didn't fit right around my eyes. I was always adjusting them in the water. Now, I enjoy using the Aqua Sphere goggles, because I put them on & forget about them. Try different brands. Get used to the fact that you might buy some goggles and not like them. Go back to others you have tried before. Experiment. You'll do great!

Keep swimming, that's the most important factor!

I would not recomend swedish goggles because the dig into your eyes but, I really like TYR and Speedo goggles. These brands seem to work well and work for a long time. Hope you find a good pair. One more thing they might also dig into your eyes because your straps are too tight.

I like TYR Velocity's. I always thought that they were very durable and comfortable on my face.

The shape of everybody's face is different, and some goggles may not work as well for you as others, try different ones on and see if they fit your bone structure.

About the racoon eyes. Its kind of a misconception that your goggles need to be really tight not to leak. In fact, if you have a pair that fits properly, you can have them just tight enough not to fall off, without any leaking. It took me over 10 years of "raccoon eyes" to figure this out.

Good luck this season!
