If a car travels at an average speed of x miles per hour,
how far would the car travel in 90 minutes?
90 minutes = 1.5 hours
D= r x t
D = x miles/hour x 1.5 hours
D = 1.5x miles or 3/2 x miles

Answer: [3x/2 miles]
speed = (distance) / (time)
x = speed = (distance) / (time)
time = 90 minutes = 1.5 hours = 3/2 hours
SO the car would travel "x" miles in ONE hour or 1.5x miles in 90 minutes (90 minutes is an hour and a half). Since 1.5 = 3/2 then the car would go 3x/2 miles in 90 minutes.

90 minutes = 90 / 60 = 3/ 2 hours
the distance = avrage speed multiply by time
= x multiply by 3/ 2
= 3x / 2 miles

you're probably confused because the question presents unlike terms: you can't directly compare miles per hour with minutes. You need to either convert hours to minutes, or minutes to hours. In this case, changing minutes to hours is easier:
90 minutes= 1.5 hours or 3/2 hours
(x miles/hours )(3/2hours)= 3x/2 miles

I love algebra! But, this seems a bit tricky.. I am barely in the seventh grade and I am not sure if I have learned this one, but I think you would have to solve for:
x= (? )
90 min
How far can a car travel in 1 min = x(speed?)
You need more information to answer this question..
You might want to go to math.com it is very helpful
And do research...
Hope this helped...
