Emma, but I have a cat named that, so I'm not impartial. We did consider that name for our daughter too though.

Honestly, both names are really popular. Emma was rated as the second most popular name in the country in 2006. Lillian was #38. In that case I would go with Lillian, because there will definitely be another Emma in your child's classroom every year.

Hard question, because both names are lovely! Also, Lili is such a pretty nickname for Lillian. Why don't you wait until the baby is born, and see what she looks like? Perhaps when you see her little face, you'll know whether she looks more like a Lillian or an Emma.

I like Lillian because you can have the nickname being Lilly but the problem is that some of the Lillys i know ate thier names because of people teasing them over being named after a flower. I like Emma but it is kind of chilidsh for when she is grown up. Ethier way i would say Lillian but you might want to start over....even tho they are great names kids can be mean

Both Lillian and Emma are pretty, classic names.

Lillian would be shortened to "Lilly", and Emma would be shortened to "Em" or "Emmy".
It depends if you like any of those nicknames better.

Lillian is probably a little more less common than Emma, also.

Hope that helps! But they're both lovely choices, either way. :)
