About 80% of miscarriages will occur before 12 weeks. But there is a possibility of miscarriage after that . For ex .a CVS (done between 10 to 12 weeks) or an amniocentesis, (done between 14 to 18 weeks) can increase a woman's risk of miscarrying her baby. A weakened cervix ,trauma (such as a serious car accident),if the woman needs abdominal surgery during the first 20 weeks of pregnancy. An unusual shaped uterus. A few women are born with this, increasing their chances of miscarriage after 12 weeks of the pregnancy. Environmental exposures to certain drugs or prescribed medications, smoking, excessive alcohol, radiation, certain chemicals and pesticides. Health conditions such as autoimmune diseases (for example Lupus), blood clotting disorders, diabetes, hormonal problems ...

1. That was part of Jewish law, which Gentiles are not and have never been under. Since you know the Bible, could you please point out to me where Jesus said to a Gentile that they must become a Jew to follow Him? I'll give you a hint: It doesn't exist. 2. There are lots of reasons for why women miscarry. Her body may reject the baby, or the baby may have severe defects, or she may have done something to cause the miscarriage. Why does God allow it? I don't know. I've had three miscarriages, and I don't know why God allowed me to go through them. What I believe though is that I'll be reunited with my children in heaven. We were never promised a perfect world. 3. There's a difference between God "making" something, and allowing something. Why does God allow it? I don't know. 4. Maybe to make up for the gay men not being able to conceive children with their partners? Who knows? I don't. 5. Perhaps the same reason that other animals eat their own feces, lick their butts, and kill their young? We're obviously different from animals in two of those things (we still kill our young though, by the millions. We just don't wait until they're born to do it.). 6. There is nothing in the Bible that says abortion is wrong. But considering the fact that in Jewish law, if a man caused a woman to miscarry, he was to be put to death, obviously the life inside a woman was counted as a human. And Numbers 5 does not state that the woman is pregnant. It only says that if she has been unfaithful, she will have miscarriages or be barren from that point on.

12 to 14 weeks is what my doctor told me. it really does drop dramatically, but there are still chances it would happen. but by then the baby will be big enough, and your doc would have an idea if something were going to go wrong. so no, it's not a myth.

yes, actually the risk drops once the heartbeat has been confirmed on ultrasound. However, I lost a baby at 19 weeks, after we had a normal ultrasound result and a healthy pregnancy . Its a sad thing, but it does happen.

Yes, the risk drops off to almost nothing. It is possible to miscarry in the 2nd trimester but it is rare. If you made it to the 12th week, congrats, and I hope your luck stays just as good for the next 28 weeks too!

It can drop but never goes away.. there is a chance if it's not healthy that sadly you can have a still birth also later on.. but chances are usually very slim.

yes it does drop, but a close friend of mine lost her baby at 21 weeks and they still considered it a miscarriage, my fiances sister gave birth at 23 weeks due to pre mature labor and while the baby's were still alive the doctors didnt try to save them but they were considered dead and able to be burried.
