We could go over this time and again and never reach a figure. What's normal for one isn't normal for another.
In your fifties and in good health, not tired, about once a week, maybe twice. It's not the act, the value of the act and what's behind it.
If it's a "slam bam thank you ma'am" type of thing, then I'm sure he or she isn't really looking forward to the next time. I wouldn't be.
Sometimes and in fact most times, the pre love movements are more important and even better then the actual act, ever think about that?
Have you ever sat on the couch with you wife and spent hours making love, everything goes? maybe this would change your minds.
Rent some good X rated videos and see what happens, follow the action, see what your missing. It might just spice things up for both of you and, change things around a bit.
One of the best, well know advice columnist in the U.S. said she would tell everyone not to call on Saturdays, turn off everything. Her and her husband would spend the day in bed. They would watch an X Rated video and go with the flow.
I've tried it with my wife, at first it was touch and go but, after awhile, the action was fast and furious. It renewed something we'd forgotten, our love for each other.

We are not in our 50's, but almost. 48 and 49. On average it is once a week, sometimes more. But atleast once a week. But also, every couple is different.

Depends what is normal for each couple. If all the parts work I would assume they are still going at it.

I would guess there is no "Normal" some couples probably only once a month others once a day! And everything in-between!
