My personal time frame was one year. You have to decide yours for yourself. It's different for everyone.

There is no time frame set in stone. If you are sharing sensitive personal information and are living like you are married you might as well do it, right? If you are a good fit and see it lasting into the distant future you only reap the benefits of being married.
Medical insurance, married filing jointly on the tax return and the ability to take care of things when the other doesnt have the ability

ie. hospitalized and the bills are in his name.

One of the 10 dummest things that women do is moving in with a man before you decide on wedding plans. I'm mean, you've been dating this guy for two years now, and somewhere within those two years, you haven't been able to solidify a wedding date or wedding plans???? That already speaks volumes about your relationship so far. So, moving in with him will definately seal the deal and make your chances even worse. The act itself is like saying, after two years of dating, we only like each other enough to split the expenses, but don't like each other enough to make a life long committment. Unfortunately, you probably don't realize this but the damage has already been done. Marriages that spring-off from live-in situations have very poor outcomes.

Go to the justice of the peace and put your signatures on a few documents.Legalize your union now so you can be invested in each other.Otherwise you run the risk of of fading out on your fourth year.Statistics have it that the longer the present situation persists the greater the possibility of the relationship falling apart even when you get married.Remember this saying and live by it,"Familiarity breeds contempt"Plan a great wedding a few years later....

Dont know if there is a time frame or not. Each person is different. I have been living with my BF for almost 6 years, I am not pushing the marriage issue and neither is he. We are happy and where we live are listed as common law anyway, so its up to you, if you want to push the issue then do so and I hope it works out for you. Good luck and have fun!!!
