Pacific to Eastern, add 3... Eastern to UK, add 5...

9:30 + 3 =12:30 + 5 = 5:30pm (assuming the 9:30 in the question is AM)

real answer: 5:30PM

(sorry I changed my answer, cos I miss calculated from Pacific to Eastern) I knew the real answer anyway, cos Im from England and I know that its 5 hours ahead of me in New Jersey

both you guys are wrong... assuming it's pacific daylight time(PDT), the time in UK which is GMT is 8 hours ahead of PDT...
so at 0930 PDT, GMT = 0930+0800 = 1730 i.e. 5:30 pm
