Not all animals fear fire.

Moths don't, neither does a Phoenix or a firenewt.

I am really curious about the small business idea you have formed that depends on this question.

Humans are afraid of fire. We can control our fear a bit better since we can control fire somewhat. If fire was something that was always destructive to man and man could never control it then I would bet that man would be a lot more afraid of it.

I think it may be because humans know how to control it, but when it gets out of hand, it becomes a fear. I think that fire is more a primal and natural fear for animals who only see it with destruction and stuff like that. I would fear it, too, if I couldn't put it out~~ :)

It burns them ! They don't know how to cook with fire. They don't smoke. They have fur to keep them warm (most). When I was little my biggest fear when going to sleep was that my house would catch on fire. I used to gather all my favorite things & put them in a bag near the window just incase. So I think I did have a fear. I still don't like it except for productful things. Oh, and sitiing around the fire having some drinks too!

Humans have the mental capacity to know that fire can be helpful or destructive; we know it can cook our food and heat our fireplaces, but we also instinctively know that it can be deadly. Animals lack abstract thinking, so to them, fire is something they fear and run from. They don't think in terms of cooking and controlling a fire, they only know think in terms of survival and avoiding things that can hurt them.

I don't think so that animals fear of fire. My dog doesn't fear fire.

I think what u mean is burn.

Fire is very subjective. If there is a fire in my house, I'll try to put it off.

After all, people tried to run away from fire because they are afraid of burnt.
Only stupid ppl that have lost their mind or senses will go with fire and kill themselves.

Because Humans have to power to create and extinguish fire, and therefore feel they have some control over it.
Animals lack the brain power to understand fire other than its destructive nature, so naturally they fear it.

Not true.Don't tell me if your house were on fire you wouldn't try to get out and away from it.That's all the animals are doing. They know there is danger and they are fleeing from it.
