What a neat idea! I bet if "they" put the effort into developing one, laser mowers could be on the market in a year or two.

Great idea ! The sooner the better.

How about laser hedge trimmers ? Find a way to control laser beams so only the hedges get trimmed.

They should show up just around the time a goat can be used to legally clip the grass on your lawn.

More than a few years back I read about genetically altered grass experiments from Texas A&M that produced a mow-less lawn. Your question remembered me about reading about such a project -- grass you never have to mow.

Sounds great as long as there are no animals, plants, trees, peoples, homes or cars that might get in the way. Each one should come with a lawyer.
