My mother recently insisted we have our wireless internet connection replaced with a wired one because she could 'feel' the vibrations and 'heard a ringing in her ear' from it. I'm under the impression there are a number of ambient waves (ie: radio signals) both naturally occurring and otherwise that would have much more of an appreciable effect on the body then a short-range wireless G signal. Whose nuts, her or I? Aren't the effects on the body from such a signal neglible, imperceptible and deemed safe by the FCC. Can someone perhaps quantify or validate my intutions for me? thanks.

There is no scientific evidence for your mother's claims. The wireless internet radiates at about the same frequency as the microwave which are must more intense, besides. So if the wireless internet were a problem, the microwave would send her through the roof. Try this experiment:
Make sure your mom cannot hear the microwave or see what you are doing. Then randomly turn off and on the microwave and ask her at various times whether she can feel the vibrations. She should guess right about 50% of the time. If she can really feel them she will be right 100% of the time.

I think your mom is nuts. Radio signals (this would include wireless internet) are very low frequency and low energy. The odds of you actually being able to perceive such waves are extremely small and would be highly dependent on the particular frequencies being used. For the most part, you are not able to actually perceive EM radiation until you get to the near infrared (heat lamps). We can see visible light and pretty much everything more energetic than visible light (UV, X-rays, Gamma rays) are dangerous. I find it highly unlikely that she can actually feel a radio wave.

a lot of persons studied influence of elctromagnetic waves on living mammals.
All results were negative when the intensity was the same as used in practice
An example : cellular phones: when used in common practice completely safe. But australian submitted mouse during 24 hours to a cellular phone working at thre times the normal power used by men. Here , they observed a small effect. But in circumstances unusual!!
