I like Oahu (Honolulu) the best. Maui and the Big Island are both nice, but there is less to do. Stay in Waikiki if you go. You can go to the Diamond Head and the historical Pearl Harbor. Dole Plantation is neat in North Shore. Also whale watching is fun...A good hotel that is inexpensive, but nice is Waikiki Beachcomber. Have fun!

For a family, I would choose Oahu. There is soooo much to do on Oahu. From the Pearl Harbor Monument to the Polynesian Cultural Center, Oahu has the widest variety of interests that the whole family will love.
If, on the other hand, you're interested in a romantic get-away, go for Maui or Kauai.
If you seek adventure, check out the volcanoes on the Big Island.

We visited the islands in Feb. 07 and our childrens (12 & 15) enjoyed the beuaty of Kauai better than the others. on an identical time as we there, the airways presented $29 interisland flights so day journeys to different islands could be an determination. on the huge Island we stayed at a lodge with an oceanfront snorkeling section and our childrens have been given to swim with sae turtles besides as see fish. Did a whale watch on Maui which became into large besides. in case you flow to Oahu - do no longer miss the flea industry at Aloha Stadium - large buys on beads, shell necklaces, t-shirts and sea coast wraps - suited place for souvenirs for friends at homestead! Aloha!

I'm getting ready to leave for Maui, but I think it is less for family than Oahu would be. I've been to Honolulu and seems to be nice for the family.

If you want night life go to the big island, if you want beauty and not much disruption go to maui

Hi! I'm going this summer :) Oahu and Wakiki is nice. Remember to go snorkling in Hanauma Bay.

My cousin said Maui because the sand is black and its beautiful there.
