There is no question that Paris Hilton is getting special treatment. However, she and others with problems like hers end up in the wrong place when they are sent to prison instead of a facility that would cure their problems.

We can't keep sending people to jail, expecting that that experience will prevent them from repeating the same offense. The evidence is overwhelming that that is a waste of taxpayer dollars. Our intent must be that they get treatment so that the chance they would repeat the offense would be dramatically reduced.

And yes, that treatment would undoubtedly last longer than 45 days.

Yeah!
And how do inmates spend 3 days in jail and have the officials count it as 5 days.
That does not make any sense!!
I'm sure Paris Hilton made something up just because Roberto Cavalli didn't design her jail suit.
Now she gets 40 days house arrest. So I bet she'll be having all the parties there. Ugh.

I guess she couldn't handle the orange jumpsuit and cheap makeup she had to wear! Oh and I bet that rash didn't come from jail!

For God's sake I have mental distress everyday just tryin' to pay the bills and guess what I get? Jury Duty next week. Any way I can get out of it? Guess not, I'm not a Hilton.

Yes Paris Hilton was let out of jail early because of mental distress...who cares. I wish people would stop worrying about it, I can't believe this is news anyway. We all know if we were in jail and knew we could somehow manipulate our way to get out early we would too!! I know that I don't participate in things that will cause me to go to jail therefore I don't worry about stupid "news" like this.

IF you were filthy rich, spoiled and used to feelings of entitlement your whole life then you would suffer the same type of mental distress in the same situation. I'm sure it's the worst thing ever to happen to her in her whole privileged lifetime.
I'm not saying it's right, or fair, it's just the sad sorry truth.

well i guess if your rich and spoiled you can get away with anything sh*t there are people that are in there for life and she was only in there for what 5 days and she has mental anguish what bull sh*t.... I guess if you have money you can get away with anything... she probably bit*hed and complained and her parents probably bought her way out of jail... But if was a normal every day person she waould have served more than 5 days and she would not have been sentened to 23 days......Now she goes home and sits on her rich spoiled @ss and can do anything she damn well pleases......

Since we stopped taking punishment for crime seriously. You know, now I think we should all go out and get 2 DUI's (NOT REALLY) and then when we go to jail, we'll complain and cry about it and they'll let us out to. Except they won't, because the law actually applies to us.

Situations like this make the American legal system look like a big fat joke. How can anyone take us seriously when we aren't consistant with the laws? This is an outrage and I'm serious when I say that.

What! She's out of jail!! What's going on in this world? She only went in a few days ago.
Having said that, OJ didn't do any time & he killed 2 people. If you're going to murder someone, do it in the USA.
