a homemade herbal mixture I can make at home that would repel insects from my rose bushes?

Yes- mash some onion, garlic or chives in cold water, leave for a hour or two and then strain. Add a tiny drop of washing up detergent and mix. Spray onto the roses and it will deter aphids, blackfly etc. You can also use other very pungent herbs instead (e.g. sage) as this also works. The detergent is just added so that the water sticks to the roses and doesn't just roll off the plant.

here is one for you that really works . mix equal parts liquid dish soap and listerine . It works really well .
