If the batter is hit in foul play outside of the batters box while running to first base- he is awarded first base. That would be the same as a dead ball - where batter is hit by a ball thrown by the catcher.
If the batter is hit in fair play while running to first base. He is out.
This is the most unlikely of plays. Because the batter will likely get hit while still in the batters box. The odds of the ball getting high enough in the air and going far enough off the catcher and going into the path or same spot that the runner is running is very very unlikely.
I have played ball my whole life. I am 26, I have coached, umpired and played. I still play fastpitch and hardball now.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN THAT HAPPEN.

A batter can only be out by getting hit with a batted ball. Once it bounces on the catcher, its the same as if any other fielder knocks down a bad hop and the ball bounces into the runner. The catcher must still pick up the ball and either tag the runner out, or toss it down to first.
Althought pitcher still gets credit for the strikeout, thats why sometimes you see pitchers with 4 strikeouts in an inning.

The batter swings and does not make contact on a third strike the batter has to be tagged or the putout has to be made at first base, unless first base is occupied. It makes no difference that it hit the catcher and came back and hit the batter. The only time the batter would be out is if the ball left his bat and hit him while out of the batters box on his way to first base.

a million. What if the batter swings and it incredibly is strike 3 yet he gets hit via the pitch, Is he out or is he presented 1st base? 2. What could ensue if a fan reached out and caught a fly ball it quite is in honest territory? Is it a floor rule double or is the batter out? 3. The ball is hit and the ball hits an umpire (in honest territory) . Is the ball in play? 4. To make the sport as honest as available, i think of on the spot replay could desire to be allowed with particular limits. Do you think of on the spot replay could want for use in baseball? Why or why no longer?

It's nothing, the play continues.
The above rule about the ball touching the batter means on the swing, not anytime after the swing. If that was the case, the catcher could peg the runner, which would cause the ball to touch him and he would be out.

Drop third strike. If nobody is on 1st the batter has a chance to run down to 1st and try to make it safely unless the base is tagged or he is tagged by a player with possession.
The only way and out can be made by a player coming into contact with the ball is when the ball is put into play and it comes into contact with a runner without first touching a fielder.

The Batter is Out per Official Rule 6:05 (f) He attempts to hit a third strike and the ball touches him;
It does not state how it ended up touching him. I think if the umpire felt the catcher somehow "guided" it toward the batter then that may be different. So I would say "Yer Out!

it's a K (dropped 3rd Strike)
depending on the league the ball is live as the catcher has to tag out the batter or throw to first...
some leagues do not play this rule and therefore the ball is still live but the batter is out...

its not a dead ball
its not a direct out
it goes down as a strikeout with a dropped third strike
its not an official out unitl the catcher either tags the batter as he is running or throws the ball to first and the throw beats the runner to first base

That is my understanding also if it has hit the catcher already. Ball is still in play.
