Your mother-in-law is very blessed to have a daughter like you. Maybe you could promise your husband something like "We'll only stay until 9:30". You could breeze in with some balloons or flowers and announce that you can't stay very long, but you wanted to make her day special. Also, during her house-party, can you go with someone else so you won't be dependent on your husband for transportation? Is your husband feeling economically pressured? It is difficult for men to change gears from work to party mentality. But it sounds like this whole event is just not that important to him.

The statistical majority of females live to within 5 to 7 years of their parents, so add 5 to whatever age mom-in-law dies, and that's how old your wife will end up being.
You, on the other hand, should look to how old your parents lived (or are living) to determine your estimated age.

welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll, I just can't get past the diction to answer the ridiculous question! Your sentence says the mother-in-law's Father is the same age as she is. Not your wife's dad. Your in-law's Dad. Huh???

A happy marriage is a key to long life. Sounds like your parent-in-law have got it worked out. If your wife has any sense, she'll pop her clogs early.

Lets hope you both live a long and lovely life and get fat pensions so you can go to Stamford bridge together without starving the rest of the week.

sounds like you are stuck with your lovely wife for many more happy years. my grandparents are in their 80's and my husband always tells me (we've only been married 7 yrs) that he's not sure he can handle me for another 53+ yrs LOL...but we love eachother dearly so we take it in stride. ;-)
