No, I am afraid that their support for president bush and the war will still do them in.

2008 is a long way off. This "comprehensive immigration reform bill" is a waste of time. All that is needed is ENFORCEMENT of current law and a less porous border (all around the country). I will vote for the candidate who I think will do the best job regardless of party. As disappointing as the republicans have been, the democrats have again proven to be more talk and less action. The first 100 days was an embarrassment to them.
You might be surprised to find some of the strongest supporters of enforcement first are democrats. There are not many, but those that are there are strong backers of that avenue.

Given the outcry over the whole thing, they'll be incredibly lucky if they can even get a nomination. The ones who voted against it will be re-elected; the ones who voted for it will be given the boot.

Well, that shows how smart you are. No way the republicans are winning in 08. You're throwing away your vote. But thats just my opinion. You have the right to vote for who ever you want and say whatever you want.

Nope. Most people don't give a damn. Sadly that is the fact. This bill will pass or fail and most people won't pay it any mind. They will be caught up in their daily lives so much that they won't pay attention. That is how Bush got elected is due to people not paying attention.

They don't have a candidate that can win both the primaries and the general election so your question is irrelevant.
