I can't stand SOME black people. The "thugs". Dumb, cowardly, sociopaths who are only tough when they are in groups.

I am white but I can't stand SOME white people (some are beyond arrogant and beyond ignorant. And I'm talking about the ones you might see on Jerry Springer on any day).

I can't stand SOME people from every race there is.

Do you think I'm racist? or do I just realize there are f'ed up people in every race?

I'd say you were ELITIST, like my mom. She didn't like dumb people, of any color. She liked smart people, of every color.

I think she was wrong for that, though.

Not really, but the line between not liking someone, and not liking someone based on their race [which is normally considered racism], is very thin. Now, to say you don't like blacks that are "thugs" may be constrewed as being racist because the term "thug" is inherent to black culture. Hating some white people because they are arrogant is not neccessarily something inherent to white people and is fairly normal. Now, if you mean you don't like a percieved "white" priveledge when associated with being white, then that would be the same as not liking blacks that are thugs. But since you are yourself, white that doesn't make any sense. That is why some would say you are racist. However, it is not racist to be fed up with some people, in general. One cannot possibly like everyone. Lets just try not to assign a color to disliking someone. I do understand your sentiment though and I don't think you are racist.

Nope.....you are normal for thinking that way. You are in no way a racist. I have my issues with all races myself. Some white people feel that if you drive a certain car or live in a certain neighboorhood or can afford to buy whatever, you got it illegally or you are a drug dealer. Some Indian peoole can be rude sometimes. But, it never gets to the point of me hating them. It just gets so ridiculous to the point where I just laugh and keep on truckin!

I think there are dumb people from every race too. But, the thing is, you can't just go around saying, "I hate SOME blacks. I hate SOME whites. SOME Mexicans."
You can't do that, okay?

well in this day and age i don't think it's "pc" to say you don't like anyone when your specifying their race culture or creed.

the fact of the matter is humans aren't going to like other humans. and unfortunately people tend to generalize their dislikes into groups because they don't understand why people are the way they are due to cultural upbringing, surroundings etc....

over history and time different cultures have a way of adapting to society depending on circumstances whether it be negative or positive. and it's up to the individual to educate and inform themselves as to why people are the way they are and find out what it is they dislike so much.

or , it's easier to just go on with your life generally disliking people.

as long as you don't lump all people into a category and generally just hate them then i don't think your racist, just intolerable of ignorant people!

Sounds to me like you're just fed up with trashy people, not subject to race. The fact that you are even sensitive to this issue tells me that you're probably not truly racist. I think any time someone starts a dialog (internal or external) regarding race and our perceptions, it's a healthy exercise.

Why make it racial? Just say I can't stand thugs or I can't stand arrogant people. Why bring color into the subject, since something as superficial as skin color doesn't contribute to actions and behaviors.

That's not racist at all. You put emphasis on "some" which means you are not stereotyping and you said every race which means you are not discriminating towards certain races.

I don't think what you said is racist because you weren't degrading or criticizing a WHOLE race, just "some" people, as you said...=)
