Look for a college that has a wildlife biology or ecology major, or one that has a very broad based, whole-animal approach to biology. Also, around your home look for a part time job helping out in a nature center, especially one that keeps some animals, to get experience.
Good luck!

It might also be important to get a graduate degree, as in this day and age it will help you get a job that you like rather than one that's 'there.' For that reason, once you get into a college program you should work with an adviser and get some research experience under your belt. This way, you'll be more attractive to grad schools and you'll do much better in the long run.
