well im just wondering if i route a wire straight to the battery with a proper ground will it kill my battery when my car is on?

It should not kill your battery when your car is on. The danger will be when the car is off and the device you connected to it may still be pulling power from the battery. This happens often and will drain your battery dead. Even those items with a on / off switch sometimes pull a small charge and will still drain the battery. Need to be careful with it.

More info required is the wire connected to something,or do you want to just set your car on fire.

No but it will drain the battery when your car is off.

it will if its something that could stay on when the key is off,and you,ll have to have a fuse on the positive wire your installing also,other wise you run the risk of doing damage to your vehicle,just make sure the wire you run is large enough to power what your hooking it to,good luck with it hope this helps.
