why don't you try both? Buff your nail to get all of the ridges out, then shape your nail with an emry board. wash your hands to get the little flakies off. then add a tiny bit of clear polish to make it shine. this way, your nails will look healthy and cute. plus, if you take the polish off, you still have the smooth nails to show off!
