The Carrie Underwood song "Before he Cheats" is very disturbing, promotes acts of violence & vandalism. Just look at this chorus:

"That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires... "

Recently, my girlfriend caught me cheating on her with the maid & did word for word what Carrie Underwood told her to do in this song (DESTROYED MY TRUCK!!!).

My girlfriend is not smart enough to think of this on her own & bought a Louisville Slugger, she claims, to play softball. My smashed head lights tell a different story!! I don't have enough space to describe what she did to the leather seats!!!

I'm entitled to compensation / pain & suffering directly from Carrie Underwood and her record company for preaching such destructive behavior.

What kind of suit is this? Pain & Suffering?

In your dreams pal...Find fault in yourself and don't use Carrie Underwood as an excuse for your infidelity. Be a man!

I SO hope you are kidding. But if you're not, you should be ashamed. Do you think she's not smart enough to think for herself?? I wish I had her email address. You wronged someone who was obviously hurt by your actions and retaliated. People can be pretty irrational when they are angry. So you still call her your girlfriend even after she wrecked your truck. While two wrongs don't make a right, about all I can say is you're lucky she didn't wait until you were in the truck before she let loose. Be glad she hadn't been watching tv. (Ever heard of Fatal Attraction or The Burning Bed?) Get over it.

ABSOLUTELY NONE! for one, your girlfriend (hopefully your ex after your DUMBASS cheated on her) vandalized your truck, not Carrie. So the song gave her an idea. Power to her. Men like you are scum and deserve for your truck to be trashed! I woulda skipped the truck and used the Louisville slugger to beat the crap out of you! At the most you would have a lawsuit against your girl-not Carrie. She doesn't say, Hey this is what I did, why don't you do it...so she isn't at fault. ALSO!!!--Do NOT try to blame Carrie or your girlfriend. YOU cheated you dumbass. YOU are to blame...don't try to push it off on someone else...You screwed up.

oh dear god you are probably one of those people who blame the issues with todays youth on the music they listen to. Your girlfriend (hopefully ex) is a grown woman(hopefully) with a mind of her own. Carrie Underwood does not say go out and destroy your cheating *** boyfriends truck those are just the lyrics to a song. Songs dont make you do things YOU make YOU do things good or bad right or wrong. Thats what choices are all about. Obviously she chose to destroy your truck because a.) you cheated on her b.) she was obviously pretty pissed off and chose to imitate the lyrics of a very popular song c.) she is a little discturbed

Good luck with that though. Oh and ever think maybe you should blame your cheating *** and not the girl who destroyed your truck because of her broken heart DUH!

I love that song, if I thought I could have gotten away with it, I would have done the same thing to my cheating husband of 30 years who walked out to move in with his alcoholic girlfriend. But figured I would get caught and his truck is so old, I was afraid if I hit it it would just fall apart there. But I am sure I will eventually come up with something, made it has already happened, girlfriend kicked him out when all his money was gone. Maybe that revenge just in another form.

Dude I have to say thanks for laugh, it was great!!! With the maid even, you are so lame. So what did you think she would do if she caught you cheating? You're lucky she didn't take that bat to your head. Oh, and I don't think there's a snowballs chance in July you can sue Carrie Underwood for you being a moron. GL with the maid though, maybe she has a truck you can barrow LOL

It happens to a lot of people AND LONG BEFORE THE SONG EVER CAME OUT!! I guess you got what u deserved. Good luck making the link beteewen gf actions and song, even if she did what song described. I bet if you talk to any decent lawyer on this they will laugh at you and say you have no case against the singer or songwritter. The best you could try to do is have gf help pay for dammage.

I know some one whos super super jealous ex gf keyed her name all over his new car. The reason why she did it to his car: he looked at another girl! can u belive that reason! So men out there better becarful who you look at lol.

Never underestimate a girl- While you cannot sue Carrie Underwood directly because she didn't write the song-she only sang the lyrics-so get that out of your head and second any judge/lawyer would laugh and say you should sue your g/f-she did this. Make sure you have proof and pictures of your truck.

I don't know what you'll get. The ozzy days of suicide solution I think killed any chance of that.

...and the movies and video games too.

Best bet is to talk to an attorney but I'm sure they are going to say that it's the girlfriend that needs to have the suit filed on and not the conglomerate entertainment industry. This however, I assume you have no intention of doing.

I don't think you'll find many empathizers here regarding this, but that my opinion.

Also it wouldn't be Carrie that you are suing, its the people that wrote the lyrics or the company that "created" that image.

If people could win suits like that, most violent video game developers would have gone down after the school shootings, Judas Priest, and Ozzy would be golfing with O.J. and South PArk on T.V. would be Barney.

No, you're no longer entitled to something from Carrie Underwood. She's a singer generating song for leisure, and he or she will sing approximately exceedingly a lot despite she desires to, no remember how unfavourable or violent it fairly is. it fairly is stated as "freedom of speech." The song specially describes the narrator's rage and what she did -- it would not advise that any one else replica her habit. in case you have data, you are able to sue your female chum (ex-female chum?). She's the only that definitely did it. in any different case, the form of lawsuit is "a sturdy thank you to waste time and money."

I would be with you there but technically she did not do word for word what Carrie Underwood said because she did it only after she caught you cheating with the maid. If she did it before then you might have a viable lawsuit.
