The Carrie Underwood song is "Before he Cheats" is very disturbing, promotes acts of violence & vandalism. Just look at this chorus:
"That I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seat...
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires... "
Recently, my girlfriend caught me cheating on her with the maid & did word for word what Carrie Underwood told her to do in this song (DESTROYED MY TRUCK!!!).
My girlfriend is not smart enough to think of this on her own & bought a Louisville Slugger, she claims, to play softball. My smashed head lights tell a different story!! I don't have enough space to describe what she did to the leather seats!!!
I'm entitled to compensation / pain & suffering directly from Carrie Underwood and her record company for preaching such destructive behavior.
What kind of suit is this? Pain & Suffering?

Sue your girlfriend for the damage. You have no 'emotional damage' to sue Carrie Underwood for.

No, you are not entitled to anything from Carrie Underwood. She's a singer producing music for entertainment, and she can sing about pretty much whatever she wants to, no matter how destructive or violent it may be. It's called "freedom of speech." The song in particular describes the narrator's rage and what she did -- it doesn't suggest that anyone else copy her behavior.
If you have proof, you can sue your girlfriend (ex-girlfriend?). She's the one who actually did it. Otherwise, the type of lawsuit is "a good way to waste time and money."

I SO hope you are kidding. But if you're not, you should be ashamed. Do you think she's not smart enough to think for herself?? I wish I had her email address. You wronged someone who was obviously hurt by your actions and retaliated. People can be pretty irrational when they are angry. So you still call her your girlfriend even after she wrecked your truck. While two wrongs don't make a right, about all I can say is you're lucky she didn't wait until you were in the truck before she let loose. Be glad she hadn't been watching tv. (Ever heard of Fatal Attraction or The Burning Bed?) Get over it.

You cant sue carrie underwood cause it is JUST a song. You deserved it for cheating on your GF. But if you want repayment for your truck you can ONLY sue your GF. DUH.
Sue your GF to get your truck repaired. Everyone knows carrie's song is just a song and not telling people to trash other people's cars. Carrie's record label has TONS of high priced lawyers and would BURY you so dont even think you can get 1 dime out of carrie underwood.

I don't think the song MADE her do anything. I think your actions MADE her mad and maybe the song just gave her some ideas. I don't think Carrie Underwood told your girlfriend to do anything. In the song, Carrie is doing the damage to her boyfriends car. She's not telling someone else to do the same thing. Nice try. Maybe next time you'll think before you cheat. hehe

I am 13 years old and een I know you cannot sue a singer because your girlfriend mashed up your truck. There is a way to sort this out though, hows about NOT CHEATING. If I were her I would have smashed up your van and then I would have came after you. You should count yourself as lucky.

i am sure you do not have a case. Ms. Underwood did not force your ex to destroy your car....her lyrics may have inspired your g/f to act out in a foolish way.. i would think that you have a case against your girlfriend.. not Ms. Underwood. though i am sure you would like the payout that a famous country singer would give you. Get over yourself...cut your losses and grow up.

Sounds like a bogus suit to me. Didn't your girlfriend have freewill? Another thing, the song lyrics don't suggest that anyone do anything...they just say what Carrie did.

Are you serious?
You cheat, your girlfriend damages your property, and you want to point the finger at a singer?
First, take the blame for what happened. YOU CHEATED!!!
Second, if you want to file a suit, SUE YOUR GIRLFRIEND!!!
