Early on in my marriage, I have been married for 5 years, I made the colossal mistake of making a negative comment about a member of my husband's immediate family. I thought it would be okay, because he was venting.
I learned my lesson. When my husband vents about his family I just say "Is there anything I can do for you?" and leave it at that. NEVER criticize your spouse's family. It doesn't go over very well.

Putting up with a bad marriage where he thought very little of me! The next time I married, though, was just fantastic. I've called it a day after 2 though. I'd prefer to be a girlfriend from now on.

Not staying divorced from him . We tried to make it work again. We didn't get remarried but we live together, and it was the biggest mistake ever.

Being quiet about my husband's moronic family. Example: they phoned at 6.30 on a Sunday morning. Every Sunday morning. Until I pulled the plug out the phone.
I wished I'd done it the first week we got married.

Not talking enough. (Being a guy, it doesn't come naturally.)
Being more proactive about problems. Problems are easier to deal with when the a small.
Not setting enough goals both personally and as a couple.
(Still married after 24 years.)

being more focused on myself and my needs and wants over his. almost all marriage problems can be fixed and put into perspective if both partners focused on meeting the needs of their partners first.

Thinking that they will change!
If he's irresponsible before you get married, and doesn't communicate with you before then don't do it cause he won't change!!!
