Rain is naturaly distilled water. The only thing in it is very small particals found in the atmosphere. These are so small that if captured in a clean bottle it would be detectable in the part per billion range. That is 1 particle of dust per 1000 liters of water.

I use it for my car battery. If the air is clean, not polluted, the rain will be clean.
My sisters use rain water to wash their hair. The rain water is softer than tap water, no harsh minerals. Water did not go through miles of old pipes and is free of fluorine and chlorine.
In Bermuda they collect rain water on their roof tops and that is their source of water . They have to buy water if the rain water runs out.
