Courage is doing the right thing when the wrong thing seems to produce better results. Courage is looking past your personal goals and dedicating your life for the betterment of mankind. Courage is doing what you were born for, against the odds. Courage is leaving behind those things you value with the hopes that they will return to you. Courage is taking the first step. Courage is getting up to ride again after a really bad fall. Courage is standing up for your future when your past keeps knocking you down. Courage is one more day...

Courage I believe is the ability to be able to think outside of yourself...put others first...if need place your life on the line even for a stranger....
Courage is to the Hard Right over the Easy and Popular Left...The ability to stand on your principles and beliefs and not bend and swagger at someone elses conclusion or belief...
Courage is the ability to keep living and being an example to others when you have a terminal illness like children with luekemia...they take many many needles a day and will always greet you with a smile even though they know they will die...
Courage is the ability to set aside all your pain and disappointments and still be able to open your heart and mind to another person and give them your all without hinderance or negotiations...
Courage is the ability to reach down deep and have intestinal fortitude knowing the odds are against you and even if you lose you still learn and grow from it...
Courage is the ability to look someone in the eye that you have wronged and say I am sorry....
Courage is the ability to look someone such as an ex spouse in the eye and say I love you...thank you for our children...

Courage is, ultimately, human refusal to transgress against ethical and/or moral principles. Courage frequently rejects decisions that are more advantageous to the person for the sake of people at large. An act of courage is also frequently wrought with sacrifice and loss for the person. Courage also entails Sense, not always embodying Boldness or Bravery.

Courage, it would seem, is nothing less than the power to overcome danger, misfortune, fear, injustice, while continuing to affirm inwardly that life with all its sorrows is good; that everything is meaningful even if in a sense beyond our understanding; and that there is always tomorrow.
Another meaning would be:The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery.

Courage is something people with fear exhibit. Courage is also an attribute people erroneously assign to people who are fearless. One who has no fear can never have courage.

Courage is knowing what not to fear. Courage is when you are humble out of honor, not out of shame nor pride.
Good luck!

Courage is doing something dangerous, something difficult, at the possible cost of your self, your life and/or those you love.
Not to be confused with gambling, mind.

(I don't have words to express "what's courage?" but i could remember a story of a courageous girl which my grandma said me. Hope this will help you...)
READ THE REAL LIFE STORY OF CHANIGALLA SUSHEELA, A 12 YEAR OLD DALIT GIRL FROM A VILLAGE IN ANDHRA PRADESH, WHO RECEIVES THE NATIONAL BRAVERY AWARD FOR HER COURAGE TO FIGHT A SOCIAL EVIL:
As soon as her class got over, Susheela rushed home. She wanted to play with her friends, near the pond.
On her way home, she saw her father working on the moneylender's field. How she wished that they could own a field of their own. But susheela knew that they were too poor to own one.
That night, at dinner, Susheela's parents informed her that they had fixed her marriage to a 22 year old man. Tears filled her eyes. 'But I am only 12 years old, Amma!', protested susheela.
'So what? I got married when I was 10 years old', replied Susheela's mother. 'But amma, My teacher told us that there is a law in our country that forbids girls to get married before 18 years'
'I don't want to hear any more of this. You are getting married next month', yelled her father.
Once married, Susheela was forced to leave school. She was not allowed a moment's rest. She would often be tortured and beaten up by her husband.
After tolerating it for some time, Susheela finally took a bold decision. She decided to end her marriage. She knew that it was possible as hers was a case of child marriage. She had heard about it from the volunteers of a NGO.
Next morning, Susheela went to her parents and refused to go back to her husband.
Her parents tried to make her change her decision, but she refused.
She presented her case before the village panchayat and requested them for a formal termination of her marriage. The panchayat offered to help her.
After a month, Susheela finally ended her marriage formally by returning her mangal sutra to her husband in the presence of the panchayat and the villagers.
SUSHEELA'S ACT OF COURAGE INSPIRED MANY OTHER MINOR GIRLS TO END SIMILAR MARRIAGES!
