Read something by Tami Hoag. I think she is just what you are looking for. (And the guy characters in her books are always hot and hunky. :)

don't know if you are into this kind of book but the dark tower series by stephen king will keep you busy for months, entertaining, opus by stephen king which kind of combines several stories into one long yarn.

twilight and new moon by stephenie meyer. i KNOW this is one of the most suggested books right now but they really are good. i read both of them in 16 hours. i COULD NOT put them down.
