What the hell are we teaching our kids? Recently I was out of town and I watched my friends son play t-ball and some kid asked who was winning and a parent said we're all winners here. Now I was confused isn't there supposed to be a winner and loser. I know what you're thinking they're just kids, but we fill their heads with this nonsense that everyone is a winner. We must show them that with hard work and determination you can be the best. We must teach them that, yes you're going to loose sometimes, yes you will fall down, but get back up and try again. You know the people who come up with this crap are sending our country right down the sh!ter. Just look around you life is a big game full of winners and losers, that's why we have the rich and the poor. You know we can't all be great at everything and I know we want are kids to do good, but we need to stop feeding this crap to them.

well.. i guess thats up to each parent...
i can totally see what you mean, but i could also understand why a parent would say that kind of thing to a kid... doesnt mean i agree with it though.

im like you.. i have a two year old, and i KNOW that dealing with disappointments and hardships, like losing, is a part of life. if you shelter your child from these bad things... well when they get older they wont know how to deal with them....

to each their own i suppose.

No. Even with being "politically correct" Still no. Stupid democrats! Even i heard about some high school football championship game and the score was tied. They didn't even allow then to do an overtime because they said the teams both played good. Both parties were disappointed. Life isn't fair OK, but do the right thing! Whats the point of a game if someone doesn't win?!! If everyone is a winner, then no one is technically a winner at all!

I totally agree with you!!!
Especially-
"We must show them that with hard work and determination you can be the best. We must teach them that, yes you're going to loose sometimes, yes you will fall down, but get back up and try again."
Which is exactly what I am working on with my five year old daughter and plan to with my son once he gets to that age.

There are a lot more losers in life than winners but T-Ball is for little kids and need not be reflective of life itself.

I agree! Life is nothing but ups-and-downs. Everyone needs to learn how to be a gracious loser, as well as winner! Not every person is great at everything! We all have our weaknesses as well as our strengths!

I agree. children need to learn to be good losers. they need to be praised for their efforts, but realize that they can't always be the winner. part of life is dealing with disappointments. it should make us work all the more harder for whatever goal we've set for ourselves. or realize if the goal is unrealistic and try for something else.

Usually your thoughts results in your actions. So by telling children that they are winners, they will seek out to win. All that other stuff I cant comment on lol....

Having a good attitude is being a winner; no matter who's philosophy you subscribe to.
