If this is the way that makes you feel safe and happy then I am glad for you. I believe God is much bigger than our limited ways of communicating and that goodness speaks to all of us in our own ways. How we interpret that and incorporate it into our everyday living is the key.
Peace to everyone in their own way of living and loving in this world no matter how you define it.

Yes, He gives us signs, He points the way. It is up to us to follow or not. Which is the reason for our free will, the right to choose. And for those who heard and followed, a life full of everlasting happiness. For those who chose to have his own way, a life of condemnation and torment. However, I don't believe in the existence of hell in the physical form as depicted by man.
God said to help the afflicted, to give comfort to the weak, to give shelter to the homeless, to give food to the hungry....all these are wonderful works of charity that God will be very much pleased.

via undeniable fact that those Christians use the Protestant old testomony that's lacking 7 entire books 2 (Tobias, Judith, expertise, Ecclesiasticus/Sirach, Baruch, 1 maccabees, and II Maccabees), 3 chapters of Daniel and six chapters of Esther could be between the justifications they ask catholics maximum of questions. For the Sola Scriptura it fairly is purely too undesirable . interior the sixteenth c., Luther bumped off those books from the canon that lent help to orthodox doctrine, relegating them to an appendix. bumped off in this style have been books that supported such issues as: prayers for the lifeless (Tobit 12:12; 2 Maccabees 12:39-40 5), Purgatory (expertise 3:a million-7), intercession of lifeless saints (2 Maccabees 15:14), and intercession of angels as intermediaries (Tobit 12:12-15). The lesson, nonetheless, is this: based on the "Bible on my own" is a undesirable theory; we are to no longer count totally on Sacred Scripture to understand Christ's message. on an identical time as Scripture is "given via thought of God, and is rewarding for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for practise in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:sixteen-17), it is not sufficient for reproof, correction and practise in righteousness. it fairly is the Church it fairly is the "pillar and floor of actuality" (a million Timothy 3:15)! Jesus did no longer come to jot down a e book; He got here to redeem us, and He based a Sacramental Church with the aid of His apostles to tutor us the way. it fairly is to them, to the Church Fathers, to the Sacred Deposit of religion, to the residing Church it fairly is guided via the Holy Spirit, and to Scripture that we could prayerfully look.

The reason I'm an atheist is all the humbling stuff the Bible says. I'd be able to listen if he let me believe in myself, instead of a higher power.

God does not point the way for us to be, as God is a creation of mankind! So therefor you have to say that mankind points the way for us to be!

this really belongs in the Religion & Spirituality section, not philosophy.
Posted here, it reads more like you're PREACHING rather than asking a question...
