why didnt they just ask the family to leave, why was the girl punished? i dont even know what to call that stupidity

preventing someone from getting their hard earned diploma is not teaching anybody a lesson, that would just make them upset. this is high school not kindergarden

It wasn't the students' fault that audience members shouted out, was it?
My kid just graduated and I think every kid has his own cheering section. One person in the audience had one of those blowhorn things.
The only kid that was denied a diploma was the one kid who said something nasty into the microphone about the principal.
This school in the article is not very far from where I live, by the way.

Blowing kisses and making waving gestures of hi, see you later and popularity??? Aren’t those the countless first actual own interactions we show infants even until now their first VERBAL qualifications? How does Superintendent Lukas now have authority to decree that that each and each person own interplay gestures reflecting Honor, Love, Friendship and private acceptance of Others is grounds for with-preserving a severe college degree? Wow. She needs to step back and ask herself while she FORGOT that Honor, Friendship, Love and private acceptance of OTHERS ARE the development blocks of character, character and verbal exchange qualifications, and a few of those elementary qualifications are being taught taught 15-sixteen years until now severe college commencement.... particular, at 6 to 9 months previous. there exchange into no justice served via Ms Lukas. Her movements have been individually petty/controlling and disrespectful to the completed graduating classification and there is sturdy reason for complaint. The graduates of Bonny Eagle severe college are actually not graduating from Warren minimum secure practices reformatory, nor has their gaining information of adventure handed off in a reformatory vacuum. Lukas is purely incorrect, incorrect, incorrect with this. She could be rebuked in public. Her college Board and total MSAD PTA could vacate/deny her M.ED diplomate status ( which might disqualify her for the Superintendent place.) Her habit/demeanor exchange into marvelous. Sue in Maine.

People should follow the rules and be respectful! it's not hard!!

The family of the students knew how to ask, and they didn't follow the rules! Asking them to leave AFTER the fact would not have helped the matter at all!!!

I'll bet that next year the crowd will have learned it's lesson and behave much better!

I think the schools are way to strict today. .. When I went to high school ( 1988-1992 ), we couldn't even smoke in the restroom!

What's with these schools today?

P.S. .. I don't smoke. ;-)

I think the school is being a complete horses behind. I would have sued them myself for the thing.
