The constellations were named by the Greeks about three thousand years ago, to explain the stories of their gods. These stories related to them how they should live out their lives as a reflection of how their Gods lived out theirs. eight hundred years ago an Arab by the name of Al Sufi named the dominate stars in each constellation. This rocked on until the Romans decided to translate these Greek names into Latin which was the scientific language of the time.
