The nearest thing we have to a waterfall actually in Chicago is the water thatruns between the escaltors in the main entrance to Water Tower Place. I suppose there may be a slight water drop at one of the far ends of the Chicago river, maybe on the northern branch up near Skokie.

I used to live not far from here: http://www.signatureroom.com/lounge/default.cfm?PID=15 but it's not exactly Niagra Falls. There was also an engineering project in the city that involved manmade waterfalls. If you're looking for waterfalls, go to Oregon. http://www.waterfallswest.com/region_or_gorge.html

Only man-made ones. Many have been mentioned. Another one is on River Road in Rosemont .
The best ones are the oldest ones. They also haven't been mentioned...Lincoln Park Conservatory has one and there are several in the Garfield Park Conservatory....this is the one to definitely check out while the NIKI in the Garden sculpture exhibit is in progress.
The other synthetic falls are at various miniature golf courses. The one on Lake street in Itasca? can be walked through.

No waterfalls, but we do have Buckingham Fountain. It is beautiful and certainly something to see if you are visiting.

Are you looking for water fountains? As in the large, pretty ones (not drinking fountains)? Because we have lots of those.... The most well-known is Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park.
