In our turbulent, beaten-down lives,
it is by dreams we survive.
If we didn’t have them to savor,
life would be without any flavor.
We dream of a better tomorrow,
a brighter day, free of sorrow,
another world closer to our hearts desire.
or a life realized and prized.
Many and varied are our dreams
Toward them we struggle.
Few are those, it seems,
whose dream survives
to live a dream life.
One day we realize
that our dream was just that,
a dream, serialized.
Saddenness always follows
when a dream must end
for life then, seems so hollow.
At that point, it is difficult
to find another dream
that does not seem a default.
Only if a dream is realized,
is it possible to think
maybe t’was the better dream,
now personalized.
Still,
a nagging voice deep within
harbors the dream that begins
though it didn’t lead to the life you now live.
One can take heart in the thought
when you give up that dream
or lose it,
another has a chance to realize it.
Each one of us has many dreams which we give up
in search for the dream that is us.
Give them up we must,
if we are realize the greater dream
that truly impels us.
Not to get hung up on our childish dreams as we age and find our own true dream. Tho’ it maybe a smaller dream, it is a dream we can realize. Then we live the dream life!

Why would you ever want to give up on something you enjoy and you like doing. You shouldn't care about anybody else! It doesn't seem to be an unrealistic goal to me! If you are truly a passionate about the thing you do and you have the will and determination of facing whatever obstacles that are in your way, then just believe in yourself. Give yourself some time. Work hard and your goal will be achieved by itself. There are no such things as unrealistic goals as if you believe hard enough anything's possible and you should just try till you reach it. Some people are always there for you! :-)

Everything is unrealistic if it has not manifested into reality. In the case of the comic artist:
Those who lack imagination think all things beyond the box are unrealistic, because they lack the creative abilities to comprehend an imagination and selfless will as immense as the artist. If they cannot "see" it, it is unreasonable.
Goals are the work of an imagination. Imagination is the mind as much as intellect, and reason within such quarters is same as all goals created.

Some times we do things anyways just to spite those unsupportive ahrrrrrs and other times we quit because we are no good at it and it get frustrating ahrrrrr.
Likes to thinks his stubbornness is a good quality. But when there are better things to be done with our time might be a quitting point, or when perusing the goal becomes unhealthy might be another. There is no real telling. Likes to do things beyond all reasonableness into the realm of sillyness and right on through into uncharted territory where we never know what we’ll find.

Does "nobody" include other successful comic artists? You might try making a portfolio, scanning it into the computer, then send emails to other successful comic artists explaining your predicament, and ask if they would give you a realistic appraisal of your raw talent. Also, raw talent isn't everything, you can always take more art classes and learn new techniques and improve your current abilities.

Lose your dreams and you will lose your mind.
Just because some people think that you are not good enough it doesn't mean that you should stop doing what you like.
You can do this as a hobby and who knows maybe someday you will be a comic artist but even if you won't it's important to do things you like

Nobody thinks your good enough? When can the opinions of everybody be known? The first step is to not take the opinions of a few people with unknown agendas and apply them to the entire population of earth. Basically, never give up.

Do you mean when should you give up an unrealistic goal? It sounds to me like a friend of yours has an unrealistic goal. In that case, they'll just have to find out themselves.

You should never give up on any goal that you set for yourself. It may not happen in the time you are expecting it to but one day it will. Just continue to believe in yourself and trust that anything is possible. practice makes perfect

it will be reaaaally damn if you are not going to continue....forget what everybody thingsi believe u can make it...you should NEVER NEVER give up on you ...NOTHING in this world is unachievable if you believe in it ....trust me...plus Winning isn't everything, but wanting to win is.finally remember:The ability to convert ideas to things is the secret to outward success
.In absence of clearly defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily acts of trivia.
